Suspension bushes: Use Best & Feel Best

If you own a car and you are driving it daily then you must have an understanding of its maintenance. You may not be an expert of all its accessories' maintenance and repair but you would know how they work. This knowledge comes with practice and it is necessary also. It makes so many things easy. You can do small repairs all on yourself or at least you can understand what the exact problem with any car is. And you also can diagnose when your suspension bushes need an replacement.

Now, replacement of suspension bushes is a big issue as far as overall health of a car is concerned. You might understand its cause yourself. These components have to play a major role in the maintenance of the smoothness of your car's speed. They enhance the tire and road grip so that the car can experience optimum speed and performance. It is painful when you have to put extra force on your steering and the cause may be defective steering geometry.

These suspension bushes also maintain this steering geometry of your car so that the alignment of your can can give positive response to the steering. It makes your car a smart machine to drive. These functions are done by bushes and they have to do hard work for this. Auto-mechanics suggest that every car owner who is driving his/her car for more than 10 miles daily must replace the bushes after running for 10,000 miles. And you also should make it mandatory otherwise the performance of your car may hamper.

Also, you must take care of some small details regarding suspension bushes while buying them for the replacement. You must check its tensile strength, resilience and elasticity. It is necessary. Because these parts, sometimes, work without lubricants and if they are not resilient and elastic then they may become faulty easily. You can buy poly suspension bushes for the better life of your car.

These days self-lubricant poly suspension bushes are available in the market. Just check about them and make them mandatory parts of your car. Believe me, the speed of your car would amaze you.

Doctor Let's the Cat Out of the Bag on Buying Cars 60% Off

World famous Dr Suzanne Gudakunst has just released her biggest "shocker!" ever ...
--> Her Secret to buying expensive cars for as little as $300 a month!
Dr Suzanne made it big on both TV and now the Web - but what most people don't know is that she routinely buys exotic and luxury cars for as little as 50, 50 (or even more!)
Then she decided to see if this same "Secret" could work for what most people considered "normal cars."
And guess what: * * * The SAME Secret held TRUE! * * *
Dr Suzanne was now armed with what is now considered by experts at below wholesale buying to be the "Greatest Car Buying Secret" ever discovered!
So powerful and amazing it PROVED in her own life that she decided to share it with several close friends to see if they too could apply it successfully.
And the SAME THING resulted!
One good and close personal friend of Dr Suzanne's is another Internet Multi-Millionaire (name withheld for privacy reasons) and who wanted to buy a brand new Lamborghini Murcielago which usually costs $412,700* (*this year's model).
After applying Dr Suzanne's secret he was able to get it for:
o NO Money down! o and just $1,300/month!
Yeah, yeah ... I know, I know ... these people are already rich ... so why should they get to use the advantages of her secret, right?
The fact is: Regardless of how much you make (or like most of us, how little!) it doesn't matter.
As they say "a penny saved is a penny earned," so imagine saving $250,000 on a super exotic car (which means $250,000 earned!)
Or, for the rest of us, what if you saved:
o $15,000 on your next car purchase, Or ... o $400 a month on payments
These savings quickly add up (and again, BLANK amount saved means BLANK amount earned, regardless of what you put in the BLANKS, right?)
So, if after reading this email you STILL insist on being an "idiot" and paying FULL Price when you no longer ever have to, then fine, leave all the biggest savings to the few of us who are smart enough to grab up Dr Suzanne's "Top Secret Car Secret!"
Oh, and by the way, with the few of us doing so, the car salesmen will have to screw someone else out of all the money that they are losing to us, so that means "YOU" will be their next victim.
... Unless of course you happen to have a COPY of Dr Suzanne's "Top Secret Car Secret" like we do!
So, just to be generous, I'll give you the link** (**But Shhhh! - Don't go blabbing your mouth all over the Web telling everybody else, cuz we have a pretty good thing here as long as everybody else doesn't find out about it!)
Here it is:

Top 6 Reasons to Use an Auto Transport Company

Just because you own a car doesn't mean you have to drive it. Oftentimes, it is easier, simpler, more cost effective or just more convenient to ship your car to your destination. While there are certainly more than 6 reasons to use an auto transport company, these are a few of the most common.

1. Moving - Is the idea of a small caravan of cars and moving vans trucking down the road not appealing to you? Would you rather fly cross-country in hours rather than driving it in days? Whatever your reasons - from having more cars than drivers to hauling vehicles that aren't currently in working order - an auto transport company makes moving much less stressful.

After delivery of your car(s) to the transporter, you can turn your attention toward other aspects of the move, knowing your vehicle(s) will be ready for pickup when you are.

2. Vacation - With the increase in secondary vacation property ownership and timeshare condos, many people change houses with the seasons. If it's cold at home, they spend the winter in warm climates like Florida or Arizona. If it's too hot, the mountains of Colorado make for a nice change. If you're jaunting off for an extended vacation, you may feel more comfortable driving your own car for a variety of reasons, including the cost. Rather than securing a long-term rental, hire an auto transport company to bring your vehicle to wherever you wish.

3. Buying Long Distance - Buying new or used cars online was something completely unheard of just a few years ago. Thanks to the Internet and the availability of auto transport companies, however, this is now a common practice. While it takes a little coordination with the seller, a good auto transport company will work with you both to make sure the vehicle you've purchased is delivered in primo condition. You'd be wise to choose your own car shipper, so you can ensure the seller hasn't simply hired a low-end driver who hauls cars as a side job.

4. Antique or Classic Car - Whether buying or showing, keeping mileage low on classic cars is vital. That's why starting a solid relationship with an auto transport company who will take excellent care of your treasure is a must. Because antique cars require special handling, you'll want to find an auto shipper that is qualified and experienced with moving classic vehicles and that offers enclosed carriers. Never assume. Always ask before trusting your prized possession to someone else.

5. Dealer Relocation - When you need one car or a dozen moved from one dealership to another, auto transport companies are the way to go. With open or enclosed carriers available, a reputable auto shipper can efficiently and safely move any type of car you may have in inventory from economy to luxury.

6. Kids at College - Children who attend college a long way from home would benefit by having a car shipped to them rather than driving an extended distance. Your teen can fly to his/her destination then pick the car up or have it delivered to their dorm or apartment. During visits, this would also enable your son or daughter to spend more time at home with family and friends rather than on the road.

Whether for fun or business, auto transport companies can be lifesavers when it comes to moving your vehicle. Never assume you're stuck driving your car yourself. With affordable rates that are now available, you can always find a reliable shipper to provide the service you need.

Give your Car a Facelift

I am obsessed with my used automobile I bought from a friend. No it isn’t anything ‘flashy’, but it has been reliable, I like the colour and it is comfortable to drive long distances. Just lately, I had been seriously thinking of selling it and buying something quite new. When I went online, to see what I could find in my price range, there were so many gorgeous new or used cars for sale, I just could not decide. I thought I would buy and sell online, but after doing some sums, I decided to make my little car more comfortable, by changing a few things inside and out.

I was not too sure with what enhancements I wanted, but I did know that I wanted to keep the interior and exterior of my car looking like brand new. Each year I spend a lot of my time in my vehicle and drive with my friends who also owns Australian cars, thats why I wanted more comfort, luxury and a new appearance. By doing a few small things and by rejuvenating my second largest investment, I solved my dilemma, and you can too.

There are so many upholstery services available for cars, and just a quick search online will give you an idea of just how many. Body works shops specialise in the exterior repairs and painting and trim shops do the interior. Trim shops, can replace worn carpets, worn fabric upholstery with beautiful soft leather. Your first search online should be at motorpoint.com.au where you can find loads of information including replacing a weathered convertible top.

But, maybe you still want a new car, no matter what changes you are able to make. In a case like this then searching online at OzFreeOnline.com is a fantastic idea to find new and second hand cars, used car dealers and anything else you need to know about cars. Just register and submit a ‘find a vehicle’ search and let the site do the work for you. Moreover, it’s free to join and you can sell your old motorcar for free with their free car advertising service.

Leather is the most popular option for a vehicle's interior, as this is where age shows first, but new fabrics offer many customization, repair and restoration options for the average car owner. Today's modern trim shop can replace original materials such as seat or door panels, to an undetectable condition. You may find as I did, that some body work, and restoration is a very cost-effective alternative to buying a new car and taking on a new car payment. Compared to car pricing nowadays, this is one make over for your car that you can definitely afford.

So now that I have told you about preserving your faithful car, search for trim and upholstery shops on the Internet, which specialise in enhancing interior as well as exterior features of any automobile. I believe you will be glad you did. It will improve your cars appearance and its used car value if ever you will sell it.

Disadvantages of Hybrid Electric Vehicles

There are many disadvantages of hybrid electric vehicles. First of all, hybrid electric vehicles are not all-electric vehicles. They do require gasoline to drive.

Hybrid electric vehicles use regenerative braking to get their electricity. The gas energy is captured off of the brakes and stored as electricity. All electric vehicles are a much better alternative in terms of cutting down smog. There are several available today.

Hybrid electric vehicles are also inferior to hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Many automotive companies are working on hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in production now. Very soon Chevy will come out with a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle.

While hybrid electric vehicles are low smog emission vehicles, they do produce emissions. Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles produce water as their emission, making them far superior to hybrid electric vehicles. Or better yet take public transportation in a city that uses hydrogen fuel cell buses.

Although hybrid electric vehicles are readily available, they are a large investment. There are sometimes $10,000 difference in between a hybrid car and a subcompact although the mile per gallon difference could be only a few miles freeway miles. This is an investment that might not be immediately recaptured in gas savings.

Of course, hybrid vehicles are not ideal for freeway drivers. The reason is because hybrid electric vehicles use regenerative breaking. If most of the miles put on the car are on the freeway, there is less braking involved and less regeneration of electricity involved.

Another disadvantage of hybrid electric vehicles is some models are very difficult to obtain. They are heavily advertised and there is a heavy demand. But many automotive manufacturers are using a showroom car to lure customers into the showroom to see a hybrid that there is a long waiting list for. Customers needing a car now and not six months from now end up buying a gas guzzling SUV because the hybrid SUV is not yet readily available.

A large disadvantage of hybrid electric vehicles is they give auto manufacturers a chance to tell the state and federal governments that they are doing something to lower vehicle emissions. Then car manufacturers insist that the government has no reason to bully the manufacturers to make cars with reasonable miles per gallon rates of say 100 miles per gallon. Hybrid cars are a smoke screen for the car manufacturers to pretend they care about the environment.

Finally, hybrid electric vehicles are available only to the most elite car buyers creating a disparity between rich communities and poor communities. Poor cities have drivers creating lots of emissions in old eight cylinder cars while rich cities have rich citizens driving expensive hybrid electric vehicles with low emissions. Probably the biggest disadvantage of hybrid electric vehicles is that they are cost prohibitive to the poor.

Tata Unveils The Nano, World's Cheapest Car

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - India's Tata Motors Ltd unveiled the world's cheapest new car on Thursday, bringing car ownership closer for millions of poorer consumers in emerging markets but raising environmental concerns. The 4-seater Nano, with an engine around 625cc, will have a dealer price of 100,000 rupees ($2,500), about half the cost of the cheapest car on today's market, a 25-year old model from Maruti Suzuki Ltd, Tata's great rival.

The Nano will go on sale later this year, the company said."Let me assure you and our critics the car we have designed will meet all safety norms and all foreign environmental criteria," Chairman Ratan Tata said as he proudly unveiled what had been dubbed the "People's Car" at the Auto Expo in New Delhi."In a way it is a high point for me. There is a sense of achievement and vindication," he told reporters later.

The compact but curvy Nano stands in sharp contrast to the luxury Jaguar and Land Rover brands that Tata is negotiating to acquire from Ford Motor Co.Hundreds of people crowded into the pavilion to see the long-awaited launch, standing on chairs to get the best view as Tata introduced and then drove the car onto the stage in a media circus more worthy of a pop concert or an Oscar ceremony.Tata planned the car years ago as a safer and more affordable alternative for the millions who often ferry families of four, plus baggage, on motorbikes and scooters. It's a dream come true," Ashok Singh, a constable with the Delhi Police, said at the show. "I look forward to buying that car. My wife will be really happy."New cars are preferable to buyers in India, where the absence of an organised market for second-hand cars makes buying them a tedious and sometimes risky process.

Environmentalists are not so enthusiastic. They worry millions of the cheap cars will flood on to India's roads, many of which are already heavily congested, sending emissions levels sky high in Asia's third-biggest economy.

WAFER-THIN MARGINS

The car arrives at a time when oil has topped $100 a barrel, the move to fuel-efficient "green" cars is gaining momentum, and a wave of nostalgia has spurred sales of brands such as BMW's Mini and the Fiat 500 Cinquecento. The car has a rear-mounted gasoline engine and travels 20km per litre, with a basic model and two deluxe variants and plans for diesel versions."The proof of the pudding will be in driving it, but visually it looks pretty good," said London-based auto analyst Ashvin Chotai, who was at Thursday's unveiling. "The pricing was a bit of a surprise. I thought it would be a bit higher."Tata said costs were kept low by cutting the "size of the package", which brought about a reduction in material. Innovative processes and systems, for which the firm has filed 33 patents, also helped.

The Power Behind Turbo Kits

Adding a turbocharger to your car will give you one of the biggest increases in horsepower over any other engine modification. Nitrous oxide systems can rival the power performance, but not the durability and constant gains associated with a turbo system. Turbochargers can be tuned to give you any amount of boost between 0 and 24+psi of boost, depending on the size of the turbine. When you have any type of forced induction system like a turbocharger, you want to make sure that the engine is tuned to it. Below we will discuss the importance of the air fuel ratio. I will revisit this again, because premature detonation is a major cause of internal engine damage, and detonation can be caused by a very lean air fuel ratio. Turbo kits should be coupled with an ecu that is tuned to deliver more fuel than the factory settings, and the fuel delivered to the engine should be increased proportionally to the boost pressure. You also should add an air charge intercooler, which will reduce the intake charge air temperature. The air coming from the exhaust has been heated tremendously, and should be given the opportunity to cool before being re-entered into the system.

Beware of bolt on turbo kits. They in themselves are not the all in all for horsepower. You will have to match these with an intercooler and ecu to build a system that will have durability and performance. These bolt on kits are great for the experienced installers who can tune an engine correctly. The true power behind a turbo kit will be unleased with some tuning to the heads, the timing and fuel ratios, and the intake manifold. We will be discussing each of these in future post, beginning with the heads. The heads are where the power is made because they are a direct path to the combustion chamber, which is where the magic happens.

Internal combustion engines are "breathing" engines. That is to say, they draw in air and fuel for energy. This energy is realized as power when the air-fuel mixture is ignited in the combustion chamber. Afterward, the waste created by the combustion is expelled. All of this is typically accomplished in four strokes of the pistons. What a turbocharger does is to make the air-fuel mixture more combustible by fitting more air into the engine's chambers which, in turn, creates more power and torque when the piston is forced downward by the resulting explosion. It accomplishes this task by condensing, or compressing, the air molecules so that the air the engine draws in is denser. Now, how it does that is the real story here.

A turbocharger is a way to force air into the engine. Hot exhaust gas powers the turbine wheel of the supercharger to make it rotate. That turbine wheel is connected by a shaft to a compressor wheel. As the turbine wheel spins faster and faster, it causes the compressor wheel to also spin quickly. The rotation of the compressor wheel pulls in ambient air and compresses it before pumping it into the engine's chambers. As you may have guessed, the compressed air leaving the compressor wheel housing is very hot as a result of both compression and friction. That's where a charge-air cooler (or "intercooler") comes in. It reduces the temperature of the compressed air so that it is denser when it enters the chamber. The intercooler also helps to keep the temperature down in the combustion chamber. All together, the engine, turbocharger and charge-air cooler form what is known as a "charge-air system". Some systems also include a tip turbine fan which draws air across the charge-air cooler to further reduce the temperature of the compressed air generated by the turbocharger.

The basic principal behind turbocharging is fairly simple, but a turbocharger very complex. Not only must the components within the turbocharger itself be precisely coordinated, but the turbocharger and the engine itself must also be exactly matched. If they're not, engine inefficiency and even damage can be the results. That's why it's important to follow correct installation, operating and preventative maintenance procedures.

When adding a turbocharger or other forced induction system to an engine, you need to pay close attention to the air/fuel mixture ratio, as running lean can cause damaging detonation. Also pay attention to how much air the heads can efficiently flow. This is more difficult to measure or calculate, but much like the diameter of a straw can effect how much liquid it can draw, the heads will limit how much air they can flow through the system.

Every Used Car Has a Secret Past

Every used car has a secret past life that may make buying that car an unwise choice. I have learned in the past few times buying a used car, about the importance of having a vehicle history report run. Not only has this revealed aspects of the vehicle’s history that had nothing to do with being in an accident, but it actually provided the information I needed to negotiate for a lower purchase price.

Last summer I decided that I had enough equity in on my 2000 Ford Focus that it would be a good idea to see if I could trade it in on a newer vehicle. This was especially attractive, since I had owned the car for four years and it had never had air conditioning! If you know anything about Texas, you will understand why I was eager to get a car with air conditioning.

At the car dealership I was shown a purple PT Cruiser that was only two years old. Seeing as how I am quite fond of purple, I was interested in the car for that reason alone. Previously, I consider the PT Cruiser to be a really close cousin of ugly. Then I noticed the cargo area, learned that it was had front-wheel drive, four cylinders and, even better…air conditioning!

During the negotiating for the purchase, I was beginning to feel a little pressured to make a decision. Partly in an effort to stop and think about the deal and partly because I wanted to know the car’s history, I told the salesman that I wanted to go home and run a automobile history check. Almost before I finished the sentence, the salesman sped off only to return five minutes later with a printout of the complete vehicle history report from AutoCheck for "my" car.

Even though the car was only 24 months old, it had over 48,000 miles. Now, I knew that the average mileage for a vehicle is considered to be 12,000 miles per year. So I didn’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that this car had twice the miles it should have.

The answer was contained in the vehicle history report; the first year it had been a rental car. While that might be considered a drawback by some, the report also revealed that every 30 days or so, the car was serviced. That alone reassured me that the car had been well cared for.

Armed with the knowledge revealed in the vehicle history report, I was able to negotiate for a reduction in the purchase price. By reminding the salesman that the car had twice the number of miles it should have, I then insisted that I wouldn’t pay the price being asked. I named a price a thousand dollars less, and refused to budge. After all, I didn’t need the car.

Needless to say, the price was reduced, the deal was completed, and I drove home in a "new" purple PT Cruiser, savoring that air conditioning! As you can see, it does pay to know that every used car has a secret past, and even if you are purchasing a car from a private individual the cost of a vehicle history report could save you thousands.

Yukon; the Safest Car on the Road

Yukon made its hybrid electric debut in fall, 2007.

The 2008 Yukon Hybrid 2WD is a 4 door, 9 passenger sport utility, available in one trim only, the 4HY.

"The Yukon Hybrid 2WD is equipped with a standard 6.0-liter, V8, 332-horsepower, hybrid engine that achieves 21-mpg in the city and 22-mpg on the highway. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard."

It has the world’s first two-mode hybrid propulsion system in an SUV that delivers a noticeable improvement in the cars fuel economy. The Active Fuel Management system switches between eight and four cylinders in order to conserve fuel. GMC has always stood for engineering excellence

The Yukon Hybrid 2WD got its design from the 2007 model year, so changes for 2008 are minor. It has an unquestionable great style and refinement exhibited by a distinctive exterior design. It still has the quality of its predecessor, only added with two new exterior colors; ‘red jewel tint coat’ and the ‘dark slate metallic’.

The Yukon hybrid interior is elegantly simple, the instrument panel and center stack would look right at home in a luxury SUV. There's still seating for eight passengers, huge cargo-hauling capability and a 6000-pound towing capacity. There's still the same on-road comfort and off-road prowess, with all the top-shelf electronics that help us find our way and entertain our passengers. Front seats offer decent side support. Second-row seating consists of captains chairs with excellent leg room. The third row is a bench that folds for extra cargo capacity. Leather surfaces feel very expensive. The headliner is a woven fabric that looks and feels like mouse fur.

The front suspension consists of a coil over shock design that delivers great handling on all road surfaces. A highly refined five-link rear suspension provides superior isolation and ride, with large, firm brackets that also contribute to the vehicles' precise driving manners.

This car is designed to be one of the safest and most secure vehicles. It is equipped with 360-degree perimeter safety system of occupant protection and crash avoidance technologies. It was given a 5 star rating by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) with its safety features. It is the highest safety rating given by the said agency.

As most car enthusiasts say, The Yukon hybrid is a great large vehicle but anything this big should have a diesel or at least smaller-supercharged engine rather than a big V8.

I Have to Sell my Aston Martin

After much deliberation I decided, or rather my partner decided, I had to sell my Aston Martin. It’s a beautiful car and it pains me to say goodbye to her, after all we had done many miles together, but with an expanding family, which includes the addition of two dogs, my pride and joy has to make room for a larger vehicle. I did suggest we buy a bus, but I was met with the ‘look,’ so I dismissed that idea even though I did fancy a double-decker like the one Cliff Richard drove around in the film ‘Summer Holiday.’

Last weekend I started to prepare my Aston Martin for the market by giving her a wash-and-brush up. I began with the outside of the car to wash away the road grime, remembering to clean the wheel arches, and the inner panel of the doors. The alloys were treated to an alloy wheel cleaner and looked ‘as new’ by the time I’d finished with them. I completed the clean with a polish and buffed my car to a mirror finish.

The next job was to clean the inside of my car. I vacuumed the seats and carpets and as a bonus found a few quid in loose change laying about the place. I polished the dashboard and other surfaces and by the time I’d finished I really didn’t want to sell my Aston Martin as she looked so good. But needs must.

The next step was to advertise my car for sale. In my first advertised draft, after I had listed the specifications, I added some flourishes: ‘safe driver, really good condition for age, one owner from new, absolutely no time wasters especially James Bond fans, first to see will buy.’ I was rather pleased with my extra touches as I felt I had personalised my advert. However when a friend of mine came round to my home and saw my penned draft, he burst out laughing. He said no one wanted to read an essay about my car, and why was I selling my Aston Martin in the newspaper when I could sell her directly to a prestige and specialist car buyer, and save myself a lot of hassle.

I was keen to hear more, and so was my partner as she wanted to sell my Aston Martin quickly so she could start to look for a bigger car. My friend spoke from his experience as he had sold his BMW a couple of years ago via a prestige and specialist car buyer. He had contacted the company by email and told them the make and model of his car, the age, mileage, the condition, and the service history. They contacted him and gave him a quote. He agreed the price, and then the finer details were discussed such as the log book etc. They said they would come and pick the car up from his place of work or from home. At the time, he lived outside Aberdeen and he wasn’t sure if the distance would put them off, however they said it wasn’t a problem as they travelled all over the United Kingdom to buy cars they were interested in. A date and time was arranged, and the transaction occurred quickly and smoothly. He was so impressed by the service he said he would contact them again when it was time to sell his Audi.

Even before he had finished telling me about his car selling experience, I was sold. I ripped up my advert and threw it away. I was going to sell my Aston Martin the easy way and contact a prestige and specialist car buyer.

The Filthy Rich’s Extravagances

"If you think that "living it up" means driving home from the Toronto airport in a limousine instead of the usual cab, then you must have no idea what the "have mores" have been indulging in recently. The list of things the world’s filthy rich can have been spending their hard-earned/ inherited money on are continuously expanding, and those of us less financially blessed can do nothing more than widen our eyes in shock, turn green with envy or shake our head in a mixture of disbelief and shock at their excesses.

$55-Million Wedding

If the only daughter of one of the world’ richest man gets married, most would expect the wedding to be an opulent affair. But Vanisha Mittal’s, daughter of steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, 2004 million dollar wedding surpassed everyone’s expectations and imaginations.

Costing anywhere from $55 to $60 million, the wedding is considered to be the most expensive wedding in the world. Held at the Palace of Versailles, the celebration featured a concert from Kylie Minogue, 20-page-thick-silver encased invitations, professionally written and produced audio visual presentation and 120 dishes for the 150,000 guests (who were all by the way flown into Paris and housed in first-class accommodations).

$10-Million Car

With only 6 of them produced, the Bugatti 41, more popularly known as the Royale, is one of the most rare cars in the world. And with prices ranging from $8 to (at the latest) 10 big millions, it is also the most expensive car in the world.

A car that originally stemmed from a government deal that has gone sour, the car was 6.4 meters in length, featured 12.7-liter engines, 3 valves per cylinder and was approximately 5 feet tall at the hood. American multimillionaires Brigs Cunningham and Miles Collier are two of the famously few people who have owned the legendary car.

$17,000- Martini Drink

The Japanese, with their "miracle economy" and disposable income, have always been known for their love of anything exclusive and luxurious. And recently, the people from the land of the rising sun have found another outlet to which they could pour their yens into: $17,000 martini drinks.

The fact that the concoction is found exclusively at Tokyo’s ultra-expensive Ritz Carlton hotel (their Presidential suite costs $20k a night) is not what gives the cocktail its price, it’s the diamond that sits on the bottom of the glass the martinis are served in.

$200-Million Dollar Yacht

When your hard work pays off and bears fruits, it just seems appropriate that you buy something to celebrate your success and reward yourself with all your efforts. What do you do then when you happen to be the co-founder of one of the most successful companies in history? Buy yourself a HUGE gift.

Paul Allen, Bill Gates’ partner in crime, owns a $200 million yacht outfitted with a gym, two helicopters, a submarine that holds 10 people and seven boats. There are also 60 full-time crewmembers that run the yacht and keep it afloat.

Many of us who cannot afford anything more opulent than renting a limousine in Toronto try hard to think of the reasons behind the rich’s extravagant ways. Some say it’s to compensate for something that is lacking in their life, others say it’s plain ostentation. A much simpler reason? Because they can.

Limousines the symbol of Having Arrived

A limousine has long been associated with luxury, power, and high life because of its ability to command attention and to make every journey a luxurious experience.

Government organizations use limos to transport top-notch politicians, officials and state guests. Celebrities make their red carpet entry in limousines. Companies use them to transport their top executives, and broadcasting companies often use them to drive their guests back.

Since limousines have become such a symbol of - having arrived, let us know a little about them.

The name limousine has been derived from Limousin - a French region. The inhabitants of this region wore a hood that resembled the profile of the car. It first came to be used in early 18th century.

Limos typically come in black and white color but nowadays you can also find them in a variety of colors like pink, magenta, blue etc. Apart from colors, limousines come in different styles, designs and sizes.

They are broadly classified into five categories:

Traditional limousines:

Traditional limousines are modeled on the lines of a regular four door sedan but they come equipped with additional features such as TV, CD/DVD player, refrigerator, and a bar. Traditional limos have a longer wheelbase and frame as compared to sedan. This enables the forward-facing passengers to have more leg room.

Stretch limousines:

Stretch limousines are the preferred choice for special occasions such as weddings, prom nights, bachelor parties etc. They can hold up to 15 passengers and are equipped with TV, CD/DVD players, bars and refrigerator. Seats are arranged alongside the length of the car which enables people inside sit face–to-face and communicate with each other easily. Usually limousines are black in color but stretch limos come mostly in white color as they are often used for weddings.

Stage limousines:

Stage limousine is not considered a limousine in a true sense. It contains the features of both sedan and a bus. One of the important features of this type of limo is that passengers can enter via multiple doors. Its roof contains large racks for carrying the baggage of the passengers. Hummer H2 vehicles are the modern version of stage limousines. Some funeral homes use a stage limo to carry the family of deceased to the cemetery.

Exotic custom limousines:

As the name suggests, it is customized according to what the customer wants. Stretch limousines, Cadillac, Hummer, Lincoln Town Car and Lincoln Navigator are often modified to create exotic limousines. Apart from regular amenities, an exotic custom limo also contains some sophisticated features such as hot tub, bulletproof glass and even a bedroom. One of the important features of this limo is that it provides ample space and privacy as there is a soundproof sliding glass window partition between the compartment of the driver and the passengers.

Party bus:

A party bus can easily accommodate 20 to 35 passengers. They are specially hired for parties, prom nights, and for other different occasions. Many party buses allow smoking and drinking on board. A party bus is equipped with surround sound systems, plasma televisions, DVD player, disco lights, and also smoke machines.

Ordering Low Cost Second Hand Cars

You can most often buy used cars at any local car dealer. They are also seen in any classified advertisements and various websites that allow someone to research and buy a van on the internet.

Ordering a van is already an important asset to the great majority of drivers. Whether if it is a never previously owned or used van, you still need pay up a set sum in order to buy the van you really require.

Prior to buying the van, it is recommended to ponder the kind of van you are required to buy and the options that go with it. You can do some research and visit many dealers. In this manner, you are able to select the best price and have the best transaction.

There are two reasons why most used cars are not pricey. First, used cars quickly break down. Every year, cars like this come down 20 % of its starting price that makes it easier for the customer to buy a used van.

The second explanation is that it is somewhat difficult to buy a van and give the complete amount in cash. By getting the services of a financial organization like a loan officer, a customer can pay their loan through month to month bits. Unfortunately, some people failed to keep that contract which gives the financial organization no choice but to reclaim the van.

For the loan officer to end having the many cars that they have taken back and add up to their lost cash, these cars are sold to the public as soon as possible which makes it less difficult for a few people to purchase relatively new cars and stop being taken advantage of by some van store owners.

It is also recommended if you look into the previous owner of the van. This is usually available online. All you have to do is type the van identification number or VIN. This might help you confirm the troubles the van has needed, if the van was stolen and know the rightful owner of the van.

Generally, cars have a maintenance history. The orderer needs to ask for the shop to have it and if it is not available, ask about the auto mechanic where the most of the fixing was done. In this way, you will know if the cheap used van you purchased is still ok to drive.

Keep in mind to test drive the van on the road and highway in various conditions and let it be seen by a notable and highly though of mechanic to be secure that the van you will order is street ready.

On top of all, you are advised to inquire about the warranty. If there are things not included with it, it is nice to purchase a repair guarantee to be safe. Cheap cars specifically the used cars are only a recommended option to those who cannot afford to buy pricey ones.

If needed, be wise in selecting a van make and a store. Do your homework. Make some studies. You hopefully realize it is worth all your work when you buy the best cheap used van in your city.

Nevertheless, don't just buy cars because it is cheap. From time to time cheap cars are good, but they can also be hazardous especially if not inspected thoroughly. So, if you have a dream to buy for an inexpensive one, be certain to confirm about its safety.

Spyder: A Car that Truly Impresses

The Mitsubishi Eclipse was first introduced in 1989 and has been continued ever since. It was named after an eighteenth century English racehorse which won 26 races.

Later on, the new Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder was made into production and debuted as a 2007 year model. It later got a facelift for the 2009 model year, and was introduced at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show. It is a 2-door, 4-passenger convertible, available in two trims, the GS and the GT.

"The GS is equipped with a standard 2.4-liter, I4, 162-horsepower engine that achieves 19-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The GT is equipped with a standard 3.8-liter, V6, 260-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional."

Its quick high-quality convertible ragtop leaves most reviewers impressed. You push one button, and it folds back onto itself and then lowers into the trunk area. The new ragtop is powered by a hydraulic mechanism that erects it in about 19 seconds, the styling changes are evolutionary and include a new front end housing a blacked-out trapezoidal grille.

Other exterior features highlight a Pwr Soft Top-Inc Tonneau cover, a rear spoiler and a 2 speed variable intermittent windshield wipers with washers. It's interesting that Mitsubishi chose to stick with a traditional, perhaps even old-fashioned, cloth top. The GS features 17-inch alloy wheels, the GT's measure 18 inches.

The interior offers a luxurious look that is being shown by an attractive dash, simple controls and generally good-quality materials. Climate controls are large, and other major controls are located where they should be. Materials are a mix of attractive vinyl’s but everything's put together with care. It has its very comfortable 6 way adjustable passenger seat with adjustable lumbar support.

Among the many other interior car parts features includes the premium sport fabric upholstery, ice-blue LED instrument lights, and tire pressure monitoring system.

The car has an overall rating of "Good" for both frontal and side impact crash tests. The standard antilock brakes feature Electronic Brake-force Distribution, which balances front-rear brake application in emergency stops. Crash protection features Supplemental Restraining System (SRS), front dual airbags and front seat-mounted side-impact air bags.

The 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder impresses reviewers with its head-turning exterior design and well crafted fit and finish.

Hummer H3’s First Lift Kit by Rancho

Rancho’s experts on off-road suspension have introduced the first of its kind suspension system in the industry that is intended for use in the vehicle, Hummer H3. This great production is considered as an outstanding technology which allows the owners of Hummer H3 to rival the off-road capabilities of the Hummer H2 models that are also Rancho-equipped.

The new package is evolutionary since it allows the customers to an upgrade of 37-inch tires. There is also an exclusive feature called the Rancho/Realift. This is a state-of-the-art torsion bar relocation technology. This technology reduces the requirement of relocating the factory torsion bar cross member. As such the need for cutting and welding is done away with.

The esteemed engineers of Rancho also cleverly developed a cross member design consisting of two pieces which allows the precise relocation of the installer to differential. This ensures an optimal zero-bump steer and secures suspension geometry without it needing to be removed from your automobile.

Rancho also packaged the cross member ultra-precisely and helps the vehicle to maintain maximum clearance of the ground. Once combined with the technologies being offered by the Rancho/Realift, the departure and approach angles are substantially improved. Each lift kit also includes the Hummer-inspired skid plate armor of Rancho that offers protection for the vehicle’s front differential.

Here is a listing of this new Hummer Lift Kit for H3 by Rancho:

Best Gas Mileage Suv

If there's one thing I've noticed about technology, it's that cell phones continue to get smaller, but SUVs bigger. Why do you suppose this is? Now, I can grasp the handiness of a compact mobile phone, but why do sport utility vehicles have to be so large? Are American families really that big? Not from what I've seen. In fact, statistics show that the typical American family is shrinking. Folks aren't having as many children as they used to. Heck, who can afford it? Now, this brings me to gas mileage. Clearly some modern vehicles get terrible gas mileage. Most of them fit in the SUV category. Especially since no one can afford those German and Italian sports cars. So how do average middle class individuals and families afford such atrocious gas bills? I'm not so sure many of them can at this point. If that were the case, car companies wouldn't be coming out with more economical models such as the Rav-4 and Honda Element. I think people are now on the look-out for the best gas mileage SUV.

By now you've seen some of the hybrids out there. These are the vehicles that run on gasoline and battery power. It sounds a bit funny, but you just might like it. As you vehicle burns gas, it charges the batter, and then the batter takes over for a while. Pretty nifty if you're looking to save on gas. In addition to this nuance, automotive companies are striving to produce the best gas mileage SUV. Naturally they all want to compete for the top spot and gain the customers devotion. Right now the Honda CR-V, Lexus RX 330, Mitsubishi Outlander, Ford Escape, and Toyota Highlander are all in the game. These SUVs are lacking nothing as far as a contemporary sport utility vehicle is concerned, but won't break your purse or wallet.

You might as well avoid those beautiful H2s if you're in search of the best gas mileage SUV. You might have to take a step down to the H3 for better gas mileage. Generally the larger scale vehicle you go, the more it costs to fill that tank. Not to mention the massive V8s they stick in them. These engines are gas hogs! So when you're out doing a bit of window shopping, remember that bigger is not always better when it comes to SUVs.

Good impression with this truck is mostly brought up by its very strong V8 engine.

One impressive feature of the Titan is that despite its massive appearance, an average-size person can manage the tailgate alone. These two features are the exterior highlights of the Titan which other vehicles of this class don’t have. All truck parts for this 2008 model get a new grille, bumper and fog lights up front, along with revised wheel designs.

Reviewers describe the interior as "plastic looking but has a businesslike design". This means that the workmanship was fairly done, the quality of the materials used were not that dependable. This truck deserves credit for having a sufficient amount of room in the back. The Crew Cab provides plenty of knee room for back-seat occupants and has rear windows that roll all the way down.

Car Accessories Bring A Car To Life

Everybody loves to buy a new car, and really cannot wait to get it home, and, even better taking it out for that first real drive. However, there is more to a car than just the car itself, as any experienced driver will tell you, and especially one who likes all the accessories to go with the best type of car on the market. So what type of accessories should you go for? That really depends on your budget, but for most people there are a set of accessories that they really could not do without.

One of the most important is of course the in-car audio system, because for most people nowadays driving without music almost takes all the pleasure out of driving itself. Most people have now got rid of their old cassette players, and now rely almost exclusively on a CD player. However, there is one step up from this, and that is to install some kind of MP3 player into your car, something which can give you a huge amount of music to listen to while you're on the move. There are various types available on the market, but many people try to do a bit of DIY and fit an Apple IPod into the cars audio system.

For more information check out www.smartcaraccesories.com

So whatever your choice in music, be sure that you don't simply opt for the old-fashioned entertainment system, and do take a look at installing an MP3 player into your car, or if you are radio fan, a digital radio. You will probably be impressed by the quality of sound you get.

Acura Mdx Gas Mileage Fuel Economy And Features

In 2007, the MDX, a luxury SUV crossover in the auto world, came out as Acura introduced its second-generation version. In 2008 there are very few changes, which are mainly a new auto-dimming rearview mirror. Some are concerned about the Acura Mdx gas mileage, which doesn't fare well in the changing times of worry over fuel economy and greenhouse emissions.

Some of the redesign features last year started with improving its bending strength. This makes the new MDX bigger in width and length. It is also lower to the ground than the first generation models. Acura also redesigned the "Super Handling All-Drive" (SH-AWD) system. This system makes the outside wheels spin faster than the inside wheels when turning so that torque can be transferred where it's needed most for better handling.

The Acura was also beefed up on the safety features front. Not only are top rankings given to the MDX in crash tests, but it also is equipped with an impressive set of safety features. Front crash distribution points protect the passengers. A number of standard safety features also include front airbags, knee bolsters for front seats, front active head restraints, side airbags, and three-row side curtain airbags. These airbags are also equipped with rollover triggers.

The feature that is great for power but not so great for the Acura Mdx gas mileage is the new 3.7-liter V6 engine. It is the largest and most powerful of any Acura vehicle. With 300 hp, VTEC engine does run clean; however, the engine's high compression means you have to buy premium fuel. With a gas mileage rating of 17mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway, drivers are not going to find the fuel economy that many consumers are looking for now. Yes, it can deliver power, but at a cost.

The size of the Mdx allows seating for seven passengers with a third row. Most reviewers feel the third row made strictly for kids. The Acura Mdx has plenty of space with 15 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row. If you fold the third row seat down, it makes for 43 cubic feet. If you fold both the third and second row down you can have a total of 83.5 cubic feet.

If you need something for a large family and with lots of power, the Acura Mdx gas mileage might not be large enough to factor in turning it down. Compared to other larger vehicles, the mpg ratings are just as good if not better. However, if you do not need all of the cargo space, then the fuel economy might play a large role in deciding on this vehicle compared to more efficient autos on the market.

Sienna: ‘Looks’ Doesn’t Mean Everything

The first generation Toyota Sienna mini van was the replacement for the old Toyota Previa. It is a large, comfortable van ideal for big families or extended road trips. It was introduced in the United States in 1993. Although not very attractive to look at during its first production, the Sienna did excel on crash test ratings.

The Toyota Sienna moves into 2008 with a number of changes across all trim levels. The 2008 Sienna is a 4-door, up to 8-passenger mini van, available in 9 trims, ranging from the CE FWD with 7 Passenger seating to the XLE Limited AWD.

"The CE FWD with 7 Passenger Seating is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 266-horsepower engine that achieves 17-mpg in the city and 23-mpg on the highway. The XLE Limited AWD is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 266-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 21-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims." Definitely the 2008 Sienna's standard V6 is more powerful than that of last year's model. Many reviewers say that Sienna is somehow heavy to handle because of its substantial size. But overall it’s rated to have a very comfortable ride.

One may love it, others may not but one thing is certain that the Toyota Sienna imposes a strong presence. Critics agree that the Sienna looks good for a minivan, but it isn’t a definite head turner.

It features a sneering grille work and those big headlights. The windshield is huge, along with long wipers and wiper-mounted washer nozzles that can stand the worst conditions of snow in winter. In side view, the Sienna's profile is clean. The slot for the sliding doors is intelligently hidden. It has a standard 17-inch wheel with a splash of chrome finish and lower profile tires.

If there's one word to describe the 2007 Toyota Sienna interior, it's versatile. The Sienna can seat either seven or eight passengers. Getting in and out is easy, front or rear. The manual sliding doors and manual rear hatch on LE and CE models work easily, with minimal effort. It can be ordered with a closed-circuit rear-view video camera, front/rear parking proximity warnings.

One of the main considerations for any family car should be safety. Safety features for the Sienna include front-seat mounted side airbags and curtain that extend for all three rows. It also has Anti-lock braking system (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRAC).

According to usnews.rankingsandreviews.com, the 2008 Toyota Sienna ranks 2 out of 8 Minivans. It ranks high because of its great power, comfort, and special safety features.

Luxury Car Hybrid SUV For Reduced Fuel Costs

Every car manufacturer is looking for new technologies that will allow it to make fuel-efficient cars. Vehicles that will offer significant better mileage and lower polluting emissions. This is how hybrid cars were born. Fuel costs have risen significantly and cars consume a lot of fuel especially when driving around town. Large engines eat up significant amounts of gasoline or diesel fuel and using hybrid technologies is intended to improve the cars mileage and reduce its emissions. There are several small and medium sized hybrid cars (Honda and Toyota are offering their Prius and Civic sedan hybrid) on the market today. However, although you can buy a small hybrid car, until recently you were unable to buy a car hybrid SUV. Large 4x4 SUVs are heavier, need larger and more powerful engines to accelerate them to highway cruising speeds and people buying them were not particularly interested in fuel economy. However, the market has changed and while the demand for large SUVs is on the rise, so is the demand for more economical 4x4s.

Lexus was among the first carmakers that has produced a hybrid SUV. Their RX 450h has a gasoline engine moving one set of wheels and an electric engine that moves the other set of wheels. In this way Lexus has achieved a very efficient 4x4 transmission. When the car is moving at slow speeds (such as when driving around town), the hybrid SUV is using only its electric engine. This results in great economy as the car only uses its gasoline engine when required. When you accelerate or when you need both axles to function (such as in deep snow when you need full transmission), the car uses both engines. The car also gets a bump in horsepower compared to using only the gasoline engine as the electric engine gives instant power for long distances. When the batteries are depleted, the SUV will use its gasoline engine until the batteries are fully charged again. If you follow the manufacturers guides closely, you will obtain a significantly reduced fuel cost. A hybrid SUV may cost more than a normal one due to the technologies used, but the total pricing (including the fuel prices for the first five years of usage) is favorable.

Online websites present in detail car hybrid SUVs and the future of this technology. Web pages belonging to car manufacturers are full of quotes related to their current and future hybrid models, meaning that they are committed to bring you cars that are more advanced in the years to come. Car producers are currently looking for ways to improve the car's mileage using only the electric engine. Rental companies will especially benefit from the introduction of hybrid SUVs as they will be able to offer their clients large, luxury cars that consume very little. If you quote car market specialists, in several years all car manufacturers will have car hybrid SUVs in their product range.

Different Types of Automotive Drivetrains

Are you considering the type of drivetrain for your next vehicle? Are you torn between choosing a front-wheel drive or a rear-wheel drive? Or do you think you need an all-wheel drive more? Nowadays, the automotive marketplace offers a lot of drivetrain choices that it could be quite confusing for buyers.

The drivetrain of a vehicle is the system that connects the engines into the wheels. Its configuration is designed according to various kinds of driving conditions and the choices of wheels to be powered by the engine or driven. Choosing which drivetrain you will use is an essential decision when you are in the process of selecting another vehicle.

There are six different types of drivetrain technologies and they all work differently. By initially knowing and understanding them, you could have a more guided decision on which drivetrain you want for your next car.

Front-wheel drive or FWD – a vehicle with front-wheel drive system means that it sends all its engine power into the two front wheels. This gives the effect that FWD pulls the car down into the road. The transmission, engine and the powertrain are all located in the vehicle’s front and thus, there is more passenger space in the cabin. This type of drivetrain has a reduced complexity since all of its components are close to each other. It may also mean that you will not worry about too much maintenance costs.

In general, by handling a FWD vehicle you can reasonably expect stability, predictability and its dependability during the winter season. Since the vehicle’s major weight is concentrated in the front, driven wheels, it increases the traction. Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Nissan Altima are first-rate examples of FWD vehicles.

Rear-wheel drive or RWD – this was once the automobiles’ standard driveline. Having a vehicle with a rear-wheel drive systems means that the engine power is concentrated on the two rear wheels. This gives out the effect that the vehicle is being pushed down the road by its two rear wheels. Having a vehicle with RWD configuration is not advisable for winter tractions although most of them feature some type of stability control or traction that helps overcome this disadvantage.

Despite this fact, RWD vehicles are usually well-balanced and they offer superior braking and handling for driving buffs. The Lexus IS Series, BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G35 are among the best examples of RWD vehicles.

All-wheel Drive or AWD – this is among the roster of most sophisticated and modern drivelines available nowadays. All of the vehicle’s four wheels are powered by the engine. It has fluid-filled differentials or gears and advanced electronics which enable it to send power equally to the four wheels or transfer torque into the wheels/wheel with most traction. The AWD system is very much advanced by modern engineering and they are nearly seamless for a driver.

Vehicles with AWD configuration can be designed also with a bias to either the front or rear wheels. As such, the driving dynamics are very much improved. Unlike 4WD vehicles, AWD vehicles offer vast and highly improved capability for winter driving on slippery and wet roads. Subaru Legacy, Acura RL and BMW X5 are among the best examples of AWD.

Full – time Four-wheel drive or 4WD – this system has a similarity with the AWD but it is typically more robust because of its built is designed serious off-road driving. The Lexus LX Series, Land Rover Range Rover and the Hummer H2 are great examples of this type of drivetrain.

Part-time All-wheel drive or Part time AWD – this vehicle is essentially a two-wheel drive. Its driveline configuration sends power only to either of the two front or rear wheels until there is a need for additional traction. It can become an AWD only for a limited time. It is effective to prevent complete loss of traction but is generally not recommended for heavy off-road drives. The Toyota RAV4 AWD and Honda CR-V AWD are examples of the part-time AWD.

Part-time four-wheel drive or Part-time 4WD – this kind of drivetrain systems usually sends engine power into the rear wheels, always. Once there is a loss of traction, the power is sent to all the four wheels by a hydraulic, mechanical or electrical switching system. It cannot be used often on dry pavements since the mechanicals could become damaged. The Chevrolet Avalanche 4WD, Nissan Titan 4WD and Jeep Wrangler are among the examples of the Part-time 4WD.

Latest Cars Confusing Consumers According To Study

Fancy additions to today's vehicles are leaving many Britons bewildered according to new research.

Insurance services provider LV= claims that over a third (37 per cent) of people interviewed in a recent study admitted to not understanding the function of the fancy icons displayed on their dashboards. Furthermore, nearly three-quarters (74 per cent) of people said that they would be unable to fix their car in the event of a breakdown. An extra 47 per cent had no idea how an engine works, with only 5 per cent claiming to have good knowledge of how a vehicle works.

Britain it seems is a nation that relies on breakdown and repair services, with as few as 4 per cent of car owners confident they could repair their car if it broke down, while a further 18 per cent claimed the could carry out basic repairs without help.

For those looking to fund expensive repairs to their vehicle, a cheap personal loan may allow car-owners to get their vehicle back on the road quickly providing the extra cash flow needed to cover maintenance costs.

Confusion about the varied functions of today's vehicles were said to be compounded by a multitude of acronyms used to describe already obscure features. More than a quarter (28 per cent), said that they were unaware that the acronym MPV stood for multi person vehicle, while 63 per cent of respondents were found to hold the false belief that FWD stands for four wheel drive. In fact, the term is used to denote front wheel drive vehicles.

The LV= report also examined male and female perceptions to their own understanding of how vehicles work, with men said to be reluctant to admit their bafflement at the complexities of modern cars, the company states. Despite not knowing how to undertake basic repairs or fix their cars in the event of a breakdown, 71 per cent of men said that their understanding of automobiles was average or above. Only one in ten men admitted to knowing nothing about modern cars, compared to 30 per cent of women.

Emma Holyer, spokesperson for breakdown service Britannia Rescue, said: "There is little doubt that innovation has made driving a far more pleasurable experience, but it has made part-time weekend mechanics a thing of the past. With many cars relying on complex electronics or technology, many problems now require specialist equipment, as well as specialist knowledge, to get the problem fixed. Which makes it even more important for motorists to take out breakdown cover, at least they can then get back on the road quickly and easily in the event of a breakdown."

The research follows reports last month by motor services group the AA suggesting that car insurance costs are becoming an increasingly prohibitive item of expenditure for many UK vehicle owners. Citing statistics from MoneyExpert, the group states that the average annual insurance policy costs 629 pounds and four pence. A personal loan quote may be advisable for those looking to fund the additional costs of keeping a car on the road.

Tata Nano: People's car, fourth largest light vehicle market in the world

The world's cheapest car hasn't ended. The Nano should be presented this year, but the mission began back in 2003, when Ratan Tata, chairman of Tata Motors and the $50 billion Tata corporation, set a challenge to build a "people's car." Tata gave an engineering team, led by 32-year-old star engineer Girish Wagh, three chucks for the new vehicle: It should be low-cost, adhere to regulatory requirements, and achieve performance targets such as fuel efficiency and acceleration capacity. The design team initially came up with a vehicle which had bars instead of doors and plastic flaps to keep out the monsoon rains.
It's called the Nano, for its high technology, small size and for its cheap price. Tata Nanoautomobile is cute and squash. It's a complete four-door car. Tata nano gas engine is a 623-cc engine, gets 50 miles to the gallon, and the seats up to five. It's 8% smaller in outer length than its closest rival, Suzuki's Maruti 800, but has 21% more volume inside. It is the most inexpensive car in the world. Starting this fall, the Nano will roll off the assembly lines at a Tata Motors plant in Singur, Bengal, and navigate India's potholed roads.
Tata nano cars, also known as the People's Car, is Ratan Tata's dream come true, and is India's contribution to changing the global auto industry. The car has put India on the global map. Tata has done in four years what the Japanese took 30 years to do. It will change the whole industry." Even rivals are gushing. "It's a red letter day for Indian industry, a day India should be proud of," says Venu Srinivasan, chairman of motorcycle maker TVS Motors. "Ratan Tata has the vision to create a new business model and all the naysayer are looking at it with concern. The Nano is a path breaker."
According to a public survey, Indian auto industry will stand in a special position by the year 2014. It will come forward as the fourth-largest light vehicle market in the world, riding on low-cost cars. India will be seen ahead of countries like Germany, Russia and Brazil in the years to come.

With Tata Nano and low-cost cars from Renault/Nissan and Hyundai hitting the Indian roads, the MINI CAR segment would lead. By 2014, the light vehicle sales are expected to reach a mark of 4.5 millions units.

According to analyst, "The demand for the low-cost car will be a great hit for the two-wheeler sales and also the people’s car Tata Nano would challenge Maruti Suzuki for market leadership."

In the year 2007, the sales figure of light vehicle in India stood at 1.7 million units whereas America topped the list with 16 millions units. China was at seven millions, Japan - five millions, Germany - 3.4 millions and Italy at 2.7 millions units. With the growing demand for light vehicles, India will be able to reach the fourth position by 2014.

1970 LS6 Chevelle - A History

The Chevelle is one of Chevrolet’s most famous muscle cars of all times, it made a respectable name for it’s self in the muscle car world, during it’s run as a muscle car it could hold it’s own with the best of them, there were a lot of different versions of the Chevelle and they were one of the best examples of a muscle car out there.

They were heavily optioned, big and powerful cars, my personal favorite years for the Chevelle were 1967 and 1970, these cars made a real statement, they were long and wide, and had the true muscle car look and feel about them, the Chevelle was a true muscle car icon from the late 1960’s & early 1970’s.

The LS6 454

The biggest performance option for 1970 was the "LS6 454"; it produced 450 HP @ 5600 RPM and built 500 lb-ft of torque @ 3600 RPM. It has high compression pistons and rectangle port cylinder heads, along with a solid lifter camshaft. Few other muscle cars could rival the power of the LS6.

By 1970 style was every bit as important as performance, and the SS Chevelles were available with twin racing stripes, that want over the hood and deck lid.

The Muncie M22 Rock Crusher 4 speed transmission

With 500 ft-lb of torque, only two transmissions were able to handle the LS6 engine. The Muncie M22 rock crusher, which supposedly got its name from having diamonds dropped in to the gearbox, and it, crushed the rocks before it chewed the gears out of the transmission. The second transmission that was tough enough to handle the LS6 was the turbohydromatic 400 automatic transmission.

With the SS package came an upgraded suspension system known as the F41 suspension, it basically had stiffer springs to handle the extra weight of the big block engine that was stuffed in to this wicked ride, a full length 2.5 inch dual exhaust also came standard on the SS models.

The cowl induction hood

The cowl induction hood was one the most distinctive features on the SS Chevelles, a slightly raised portion of the hood, with the opening for the scoop facing the driver of the car, it would draw air from the bottom of the windshield area, where the air has a natural swirling effect.

Engine Specifications

* Cast Iron Engine Block * Cast Iron Cylinder Heads * Two Valves Per Cylinder * 4.25 inch bore with a 4 inch stroke * 454 CID * 11.25:1 Compression Ratio

Well that's more or less the story of the 1970 Chevelle LS6, during that time these cars were feared by their opponents, and loathed by the other motor companies, with all of them trying to out do each other in the muscle car wars, not to many of them could lay this car to rest, it was one tough hombre.

I've been in the automotive business for about 20 or 25 years, I have worked in all facets of the industry, from parts to restoration, all different makes and models, I just want to keep people interested in the old cars because it's where my heart is.

Buy Japanese Used Versions

Very few many people know this fact, that buying Japanese used cars of latest models is one of the best deals you can ever get. Japanese car imports are of the highest quality due to the constant vehicle changes Japanese consumers go through. This constant change in cars in Japan is because of the high cost of re-registration and evaluation that their vehicles have to go through, making buying new vehicles easier for them than maintaining an older one. Used car dealers in Japan get quite a large number of these top quality Japanese used cars which they sell at very competitive prices. Some of these cars are also sold on online Japanese auctions and used car auctions by lot due to the constant upgrade in vehicles in the country. Buying a Japanese used car is a very good deal since they are almost brand new due to the low mileage on them. Japanese car imports will surely bring over some of the newer car models that have been traded up for other vehicles in Japan, giving you a chance to own a relatively new car for the fraction of what it should cost.

Mariner: The Practical Hybrid

The Mercury Mariner compact SUV was introduced in 2005. Its components are closely related to the Ford Escape except from being offered with only an automatic transmission. Mariner differed mostly in aesthetic appeal and comfort.

In 2006 the Mariner Hybrid was released. "It is a "full" hybrid electric system, meaning the system can switch automatically between pure electric power, pure gasoline engine power, or a combination of electric battery and gasoline engine operating together."

The first 2008 Mercury Mariner was unveiled at the South Florida International Auto Show on October 6, 2006. It is a 4-door, 5-passenger sport-utility, available in two trims, the 4X2 and the 4X4. It comes in bold styling.

"The 4X2 is equipped with a standard 2.3-liter, I4, 133-horsepower, hybrid engine that achieves 34-mpg in the city and 30-mpg on the highway. The 4X4 is equipped with a standard 2.3-liter, I4, 133-horsepower, hybrid engine that achieves 29-mpg in the city and 27-mpg on the highway. A variable speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims." Reviewers describe it as at best performer with a competitive class.

Reviewers say that the upgrade gave this SUV a more aggressive presence. The new grille that's larger, with bigger openings between the bars is one of the striking features of its exterior.

"Every surface was changed to make the vehicle look more substantial than the previous model," These are some exterior auto parts options available; moon roof, side step bars and a roof rack.

Impressive interior features are evident in the Mercury Mariner's five-passenger cabin. It has Satin Pewter finishes and chrome accents which give it a classier look. Many reviewers noticed its spacious seating and stylish use of materials and color treatments. The seats are monochromatic or two-tone with Alcantara ® Suede inserts.

It also features a four-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo with an auxiliary MP3 jack, full power accessories, keyless entry, and tinted privacy glass. Designers have added lots of interior storage, it is now 27.8 cubic feet, fairly typical for this class of vehicle, and a respectable 66 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

Safety features include; front and side airbags for the front seats, and side-curtain airbags that cover both rows, as well as AdvanceTrac (stability control) with anti-rollover technology. It has performed well in government crash tests, leading to an excellent score for safety.

The 2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid has been a practical version of a small SUV.

Volkswagen Hybrid For 2010

Union has been reached on a co-operation which sees Volkswagen joining forces with Sanyo, one of the world’s leading developers of rechargeable batteries, to work on new and extremely efficient high-performance storage systems based on lithium-ion technology.

"Our focus in future," says Prof Martin Winterkorn, CEO of the Volkswagen Group, "will be directed more strongly at making electrically powered automobiles alongside ones driven by more efficient combustion engines. Drivetrain electrification is the way forward if we wish to secure mobility in tomorrow's world. This will involve energy recovery. The whole idea will be to no avail, however, as long as we do not have powerful energy storage systems at our disposal and as long as vehicle operations are not in tune with customer demands. This cooperation is an important step for us," Winterkorn adds.

Emissions-free travel in an all-electric operating modus is already possible today, though only at limited speeds and over short distances. That makes it all the more important to develop new accumulators with the capacity, size, weight and cost attributes which will enable them to be used more efficiently in car parts. Lithium-ion technology, already very successfully used in communications electronics and portable computers, has the potential to satisfy even the particularly exacting demands placed on electro-traction systems in motor vehicles.

Just about a month ago reports stated that Volkswagen killed plans to produce a production version of the Golf TDI Hybrid. Supposedly the cost of producing the car didn’t make economical sense to executives. However, with this news we think the Golf TDI Hybrid should be back in Volkswagen’s green plans. The car parts were powered by a 3-cylinder 74-hp engine that was paired to a 27-hp electric motor.

Back in March, at the Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen showcased its Golf TDI Hybrid design study, which demonstrated just how much potential for energy reduction there is when you combine high-tech-diesel, electric-drive and 7-speed-DSG technology. Conceived as a powerful full-hybrid vehicle, the Golf TDI Hybrid can be operated using combustion-engine power only or using a combination of combustion and electric drive or using E-drive – i.e. the powerful and energy-efficient combination of TDI technology and an electric motor. The A1 project Quattro presented by Audi at the most recent Tokyo Motor Show features a powertrain already designed to cover a distance of 100 km using this innovative storage method. The Group hopes to be able to employ lithium-ion technology in its first vehicles by 2010.

Subaru Canada Ranks The Highest

Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is at the peak of their game today. The Canadian-based Subaru group ranks highest among auto manufacturer websites in satisfying Canadian new-vehicle shoppers according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Canadian Manufacturer Web Site Evaluation Study; and not to mention their splendid car parts. The 2008 Canadian evaluation study is founded on evaluations presented by 3,639 new-vehicle shoppers who stated they’ll be going to acquire a new vehicle within the next 12 months. The SCI corporate website, www.subaru.ca, and the sites for its network of 89 dealers are supervised, developed and congregated completely in-house in what Subaru considers as an industry first.

"My thanks and congratulations to our talented and dedicated team of developers who have worked so hard to make Subaru the new standard for excellence in this important area," said Katsuhiro Yokoyama, president and CEO of SCI. "The fact that Subaru's satisfaction scores improved significantly during a downward trend in the industry is a real testament to their hard work and the success of their efforts in meeting and anticipating customer needs."

The Auto Channel reported that the study comes across at four significant elements that concern customer satisfaction with websites: information and content, no difficulty of finding the way throughout the website, the eye-catching look of the website, presentation of models with their dazzling car parts and the speed at which pages load throughout the website.

Subaru lead the contest with uncontested authority. The group was ranked the highest along with 25 other auto manufacturer sites, a soaring 73 index points on a 1,000-point scale to obtain a score of 840. On the other hand, overall, the survey came across that satisfaction with manufacturer websites has reduced for a second consecutive year-down 12 points from the time when the study's inauguration in 2006.

"It's interesting to note that the few manufacturers that redesigned their websites in the past year were some of the only automakers to achieve improvements in satisfaction among new-vehicle shoppers. Subaru, in particular, recently completed a total redesign of its website, which has played a notable role in their overall performance improvement since 2007," says Adrian Chung, manager of automotive syndicated research at J.D. Power and Associates.

Notes: Subaru Canada, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. of Japan. Headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, the company markets and distributes Subaru vehicles, parts and accessories through a network of 89 authorized dealers across Canada.
